Did I hear someone mention my guide? And it's not new, it's been around since the Factions Preview Event. But yeah, since Soul Reaping got PWNED, Rit MMs are the way to go, now. Man, first the Minion Cap, now this. Necros might as well just /wrist. *Is not complaining.*
Actually was going to use a different one (Build by Metasynpatic on the build list), as I just capped Reclaim Essence tonight. However, I'll give both a shot. Was having fun with Caretakers tonight.

(on the build list)
Attributes:
12 + 3 + 1 Spawning
12 Death
3 Restoration

Skills Set:

1. Animate Bone Minions
2. Animate Shambling Horror
3. Reclaim Essence {Nightfall Elite}
4. Death Nova
5. Spirit's Gift
6. Explosive Growth
7. Blood of the Master
8. Flesh of my Flesh

Dude, where is your Boon of Creation? With that Enchant, Reclaim Essence becomes your safety net, not your primary means of gaining Energy. You're still stuck in the Necro mindset of "Things that die = Energy." With BoC, it's "Animating = Energy." And Jagged Bones, when you cap that. Between Animate Bone Minions, maintaining your Enchants, and tossing Nova on anything friendly, you won't have time for another Animate. Toss that Animate to your Necro Heroes or Razah (when you get him.)

Secondly, you don't want your minions to live with BotM, they got enough health with 16 Spawning. Their job is to die, and explode in the midst of your foes. Their melee damage is pathetic. Explosive Growth and Death Nova does more. Spirit's Gift and Monk and Necro Heroes/Henchies will heal your minions enough, with Heal Area and Karei's Healing Circle.

As always, take my advice or don't, it's up to your personal play style or Explorable Area/Mission needs.

Again, it's all up to tweaking it as need be. Reclaim Essence (at 16 spawning, returns 21 energy (net 5 for the cast))with 5 sec recharge). 2 Minions alone only cost 15. We'll see what I do with it. It's all experimental.

(Note: I haven't had time to try either build at the moment. Some of us work 50+ hours a week.)

Well, the only issue is PuG, Rits rock!
I play a restoration rit when I am in groups, I have never had a problem getting into groups at all, in fact, when I enter a mission area, i get flooded with PMs asking me to join their group.

After getting a chance to try this build out, you are correct, Bargamer. Using Boon of Creation on this, I never got below 25 energy. I replaced Shambler with Boon, replaced Blood of the master with Putrid flesh. It blows them up and spreads disease. Just for something different.

Thanks.

rits are by far my favorite class to play and besides my monk which i made when i first got prophecies a couple years ago is my oldest character and is fun to use no matter if your healing spirit spamming or channeling and IMO they have some of the coolest looking armor.

I know ppl have said so, but yes, Rits are great farmers. Also, they can deal a ton of damage in many ways if you like, Communing Spirits (though the Bloodsong change hurt this) or Channeling. Also, Resto rits are amazing healers, I kind of prefer a skilled rit to a monk for healing any day in Fow, UW, etc, but thats just me. Basically, Rits can do anyjob, except for I suppose running and tanking. Rits are great, and they DO look awesome.

Thats not entirely true, rits can run. I run the desert and Ascalon to LA, as well as some of the Magumma Jungle. Most skills are ranger, but I still run. Rits are not too good at tanking, but a Rt/D with mystic regeneration is pretty good for a squishy.

I agree with being able to run as well. I go quite a bit in FoW for CRs, and with AL+15 under wep spell, AL+24 from resil wep (when triggered) and AL+24 from PwK, you have a nice little piece of armor

But yea, I can safely say I only play Rt now. I get on other classes and they just seem boring.
MM-rits are the new MMs. /bow to us =P

nuker- we spike like crazy, and especially if you know what you are doing

healer-you get more compliments for healing, resil wep is great along with our magnificent e management (AwS, RE, SC, the list goes on)

melee- this is a little tougher, but with Spirit's Strength and some proper kiting, you can deal more damage than any ol' warrior or assassin.

Farming- Rits are becoming the new kings and queens of the solo. There are so many builds out there for Rts, just ask =)

Rits are becoming what mesmers used to be. We are the minority group, but we are the cool kids in class because we own in PvP, PvE, and everything in between. Not to mention most rits are nice and caring unlike other classes u typically meet (*coughmonkandelecough*)

But yea, if you want a new type of playing, and plan on never playing another class again, Rits are the way to go (and we have the coolest armor!)

I run as a channeling rit most of the time. Spirit Rift, Spirit Burn and Essence Strike are my 3 main attack spells, along with Spirit Siphon for extra energy management (and one or two spirits to place down to get the conditional bonuses from Essence Strike and Spirit Burn). Spirit Rift also takes a coupla seconds for the damage to happen, so it's great for timing a second spell to strike at the same moment (though it relies on your targets staying in the one place). Channeled Strike is also great for damage, except it can also burn through your energy pool quite quickly.

There's the option of heavy artillery as well. Load up on as many attack spirits as you can, along with Painful Bond. Don't bother strengthening your attack spirits that much, and pump as much into channeling as possible. The damage from Painful Bond alone will more than compensate for your spirits' lack of base attack damage. Rips through enemy ranks very quickly, but sacrifices some mobility.

Ok, so i see everyone always praising Rit and how good it is. I decided to make one. It may be because I just played 5 levels of it, but I felt it severely underpowered. It was nothing special. I could do anything better on another character. I guess I'm missing something. Is it one of those classes that you have to just endure the boring bits then it gets awesome?

Hmm how to convince you....Watch an attack spirit Rit take on Shiro and Abbadon. Mine did. My Rit went through all three campaigns faster and easier than my warrior.
